Aurora Hotel
One of the major constraints of the project was the desire of the beneficiary to obtain an extremely generous space that could support the organization of a large-scale event but also allow different functional scenarios at the same time.
Beyond the presence of the existing building with the evident architectural values not at all to the liking of the client who dreamed of an exterior shell made of glass and metal, the main stake of the project was the awareness of the need to preserve the existing representative elements and the expansion with only a discreet intervention in relation to the public space which does not cancel the original character of the building and intervening only at the level of the inner courtyard through a faceted canopy with successive edges and folds, detached from the tall body of the hotel through a skylight.
